     Welcome first graders and parents! Thank you for taking the time to check out our blog. I am so excited for this school year and I can't wait to get to know all of you.  I wanted you to have a chance to get to know me too so I will tell you a little bit about myself.
     I was born and raised in Ormond Beach, Florida and I love the beach! I moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and never left.  I majored in Elementary Education and got my masters in Special Education. I am the sixth of seven kids and love visiting all of my siblings, nieces, and nephews.
     This year will be my third year of teaching.  I taught fifth grade at Williston Elementary and last year I taught first grade here at Joyce Bullock Elementary.  I am so excited to be teaching first grade again this year.  It is amazing to see the growth that first graders experience throughout the year.  I have always loved to read and hope to instill a love of reading and learning in each of my students.
